How to answer UT short answers? ›

Be succinct. While it's important for students to use illustrative examples where appropriate, they should remember that the short answers are primarily about providing extra information to the admissions committee. Students should be concise and focused in their responses.

Submit the required short answers to prompts in your admission application. Answers are limited to no more than 40 lines, or about 250–300 words per prompt, typically the length of one paragraph.

Even though UT Austin likely says they have no minimum ACT requirement, if you apply with a 27 or below, you'll have a very hard time getting in, unless you have something else very impressive in your application.

Students who meet the Early Action deadline will receive a notification no later than January 15. Regular deadline applicants will receive a notification no later than February 15. The Early Action deadline does not provide an advantage in the review process nor is it binding.
